Yet again we found ourselves in another unplanned, fantastic stop. Funny how the road has it’s way with you. We had considered venturing to Lake Tahoe several times but it was just too far of a trek from Yosemite, where our priorities lie. It wasn’t until a job opportunity opened up harvesting produce from some newfound friends, that our compass pointed that way. After a week of hard work, the only reward we could fathom was some R & R and sightseeing around the Lake. We set off, traveling from Tahoe City to South Lake Tahoe, enjoying the fabolous views along the way. Emerald Bay proved to be the highlight and a four-star recommendation if your in the area. At the nearby college, we caught up with the Reel Rock Tour and a premier of the ‘Valley Uprising’ (an in-depth look into the climbing history of Yosemite). A close friend’s suggestion led us to our first [and possibly last] casino experience at the Montbleu. The next day we got back in touch with a roots at Lover’s Leap. Exploring the famous granite walls was so much fun as we climbed classic after classic. The next morning Casey flashed several boulder problems and I had a blast with a steep highball. Can’t wait to come back and discover some more hidden gems!
